Got the volker18 ride at 9am saturday, 3 hours, then racing the crit(click) at 3pm. Then potpies for $5. The course at the river market is pretty sweet, some climbing and fast corners.
I'm still heavy, not less than 170 ever. 2 years ago I was fast at 160 and usually around 164. Last summer I was always around 167 or so. But having not weighed myself in over 6 months, and all of a sudden being heavy makes me think I gained a ton of muscle throughout the cx season. This could be wishful thinking.
Hopefully after a few months of racing I'll get back down to 165 or so, maybe 160 by tulsa tough.
I'm eating way better now, 1 or 2 carrots a day. Eating carrots help me eat more healthy all the way around. Plus I've tried brushing my teeth at 7, this keeps me from going into the kitchen during every commercial break while watching tv through the night.
I've got a good team this year for the cat 2 races, Matt O, Matt M, Kent W, Jason K, and me. Its going to be exciting racing with more people.
CX season made me realize that I need to race more road to good at cross. I can be fast for a lap or 2, stay with the leaders, even win the first lap, but I don't have good power for 1 hour or more. So, this season, I will be racing more races, bigger races, longer, harder, faster, all that good stuff.
